Latitude59 Expands to Cape Town: Estonia Meets South Africa in First Satellite Edition

Lat 14kenyaCape Town, South Africa – Latitude59, Estonia's flagship startup and technology event, will host its first-ever Cape Town satellite event this November, bringing together South African and Estonian founders, investors, and innovators for an evening of cross-border collaboration and storytelling.

    10.10.2025
Latitude59 CEO Liisi Org said the Cape Town event is designed to showcase the shared strengths of two vibrant ecosystems. "Estonia has proven that a nation of just 1.3 million people can lead in digital innovation, produce unicorns, and shape global tech conversations. Cape Town, as Africa's startup hub, is redefining what's possible with creativity, resilience, and diversity. This evening is about showing that innovation doesn't depend by zip codes – it's an evening for dreamers and doers who are bold enough to build."

Org added that although on 3-5 December the Latitude59 Kenya event will happen, the Cape Town satellite offers a more intimate evening. "This is a chance to meet face-to-face, share founder journeys, and build bridges that can grow into lasting collaborations," she explained.

Estonia's Ambassador to Kenya and South Africa, Daniel Schaer, emphasized the importance of global founder networks in driving innovation. "When South African entrepreneurial energy meets Estonia's world-leading digital know-how, we're not just exchanging ideas — we're building ecosystems. Founders thrive when they connect across borders, share lessons, and turn challenges into opportunities – and Cape Town is the perfect place for this dialogue," added Schaer," said Schaer.

Latitude59 x Cape Town is organized as part of the Africa Tech Festival, in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Latitude59. The event is partly funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU. The evening program will run from 17:00–22:00 and feature a dynamic founder panel, startup pitching, insights into Estonia's pioneering e-Residency program, and plenty of active networking opportunities.

Earlier this year, Latitude59 marked its 13th edition in Tallinn, Estonia, attracting over 3,500 participants, including more than 900 startup representatives and 20 national delegations. Nearly 700 investors participated this year. 170 speakers could be seen on Latitude59's stages. In total, there were participants from more than 70 different countries worldwide.

Registration for the Cape Town event is available here. Latitude59 Kenya Edition 2025, which will be held at A.S.K Dome in Nairobi, Kenya on December 3-5, are also available.
